Description Have you ever felt like your quiet life was about to be shattered? One night, a lumberjack living alone in the forest wakes to terrifying noises from the city beyond the fence. Hostile machines are invading, people are being kidnapped, and the truth behind Sun Shake is far darker than anyone imagined. This is your story, a hero’s journey through puzzles, stories, and three epic bosses… in a parallel universe. Can you face the threat, uncover the secrets, and save the city? Are you our hero? Pre-texts: The Invasion Your heart is pounding far too hard, far too fast, and an irritating noise keeps screaming inside your head while stress fills every thought you try to hold onto. You walk closer to the window, almost without realizing it, and then your breath just stops. Out there, beyond the fence and far away in the city, something is happening. Destruction, fire, movement everywhere, enormous machines moving through the streets. For a moment your head goes completely empty, leaving only the sound of your own heartbeat echoing inside you. What the hell is happening? Just yesterday you were a lumberjack, a hobby mechanic, living a quiet and simple life. Today that feeling is gone, completely gone, replaced by something heavy and cold in your chest. Something is very wrong out there, and you cannot ignore it. You have to do something. Now. Quick… check the computer. There has to be something online about this. The Sewer What am I even doing… The city needs help, and you cannot stop wondering who else could possibly help, or how you could ever have stayed home while something like this was happening. This was never the plan. Jumping into the sewers was definitely not the plan, but now you're here. If you keep moving forward through the sewers, you should be underneath the city fairly quickly, and if you are lucky, you might even find a way up. Let's hope so, at least. And Sun Shake… you keep coming back to that name. You are almost certain they are involved somehow, even though it makes no sense. Sun Shake only makes milk drinks, right? Still, the pink branding keeps bothering you. The thought sticks with you as you keep moving. The Heybot Market Okay… that was confusing. It feels like something lived down here, or maybe not just something, but people, or something different. Those strange tubes you saw earlier, what were they actually used for? You had to move forward and blowing up the generator was the only option. It did not feel right, but standing still felt worse. You have already walked farther through the sewers than the distance to the city itself, and you really hope you will not surface too far on the other side. You take a breath and continue. Warehouse Manager That market back there… it was the first time this really became hard. Those robots were not acting like anything you have ever read about. They behaved just like the machines you saw during the invasion in the city, hostile, relentless, almost angry. You remember reading about fully self automated stores, places designed to help people shop safely and efficiently, run entirely by robots. This place was supposed to be something like that. Instead, the robots were clearly reprogrammed, turned into something meant to hurt people rather than help them. You also remembered that it was morning outside the market, which probably means the robots that kidnapped the people from the city may already be far away. You cannot stay here forever. You step into the elevator. It does not seem to go all the way down, almost as if the lowest level is locked or restricted. On the floor, you notice a manual; “USER MANUAL FOR: WAREHOUSE BOT - Model 07 - Designed for logistics and warehouse management tasks Primary optical unit reinforced with extra protective casing Eye unit resistant to sustained damage Designed for long operational endurance Follows entered orders to its server (Not intended for aggressive or combat behavior)” You stare at the text for a moment, extra resistant eyes, interesting. The doors close. The Abandoned Loading Dock What the hell was that thing? The enormous machine you just fought felt almost like a boss, but according to the manual, it was never meant to be violent. That means it must have been hacked in some way. You step forward into a harsh, blinding light. You see the brand's logo… The Sun Shake Company This whole time period feels rushed. Building a Sun Shake factory here and destroying the old rail system to do it feels cruel, and yet, strangely enough, the old structure still helped you cross. A forgotten rail station, with tracks running straight into the factory wall, as if the factory was simply dropped here without permission. It feels out of place. Illegal. You hope no one noticed the crash. But you could swear you saw something in one of the windows. Someone in need of help? Maybe you imagined it, or maybe you need to go higher to be sure. You slow your steps. Cameras could be anywhere. Shhh… Your Trashed Oh crap. What the hell. It was a trap!, of course it was, designed for anyone trying to free the person they took from the city, and you walked straight into it. You are falling longer than feels reasonable. You think about what you're actually inside for a moment, it's a big green tube. It feels very familiar … then you remember that you've seen things like this before, in the sewers! Then you hit the ground hard. Crash! You pull yourself up, and the smell hits you immediately, thick and rotten. Your head is pounding, and your stomach turns. The Caves No no no no, NO! Barney! Help! He does not hear you anymore. He took the stairs, and you trusted that stupid elevator, which now hangs broken above you. Your hands are still shaking from the fight, that trash robot was enormous You look around you and see a little tunnel, even though it doesn't feel like the right way, it looks impossible to get back up.. You slowly go into the darkness. The Sun Shake Laboratory You step into something that feels like an entrance, but not quite. What is this place and why does it smell so strongly of milk? You find yourself inside a strange pink and black technical tube, which gives the feeling that Sun Shake is involved. Also beside this entrance lies a broken elevator. The same one from the market if you remember correctly, but broken. Could it have fallen this deep? Sun Shake planned something, a long time ago. Paths, routes, access points, all leading here. You feel uneasy but step forward… The Sun Shake Program Is this it? The final boss is waiting behind these doors? You have seen too much already. Endless production lines of milk drinks, people forced to work, suffering behind glass, a control panel you could never take control over, and the two massive generators. Your stomach twists. You found a planning book, but most of it makes no sense to you. “ - Plan: Farmers is the source - …subjects show consistent endurance …strong labor oriented behavior …aura interaction successful in tube environment …oil immersion required …energy output theoretically endless” You close the book, your hands shaking. Whatever Sun Shake is doing here is beyond wrong, and it has to stop! Party! After a brutal fight, the massive computer controlling the laboratory, finally shuts down, and real silence fills the space for the first time. You run from door to door, tube to tube, freeing everyone who was locked away, until engines roar in the distance. Barney crashes into the laboratory with a plane, laughing and yelling; Come on guys, towards freedom! Together, in the middle of the night, you fly back home with the people of the city. When you land, the streets quickly fill with light, music, and laughter, a celebration born from relief. You are the true hero of this story.
