NPC Controller (Fix)

NPC Control - Possess & Control Any NPC This is a fixed and enhanced version of the original NPC Control mod by crackx: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id Take control of any NPC in Scrap Mechanic! Aim at a bot and press E to attach to its controls - full control over movement, attacks, flying and camera. Or use the Morph Tool to spawn any character in front of you and get possessed automatically. Even the laziest bots become your puppets. [hr Features [*Possess all 15 official unit types: Farmbot, Totebot (green/red/yellow/blue/leaf), Haybot, Tapebot (standard/red/green/yellow), Woc, Glob, Lootbot, Seedbot, Cablebot, Minerbot, Scannerbot [*WASD movement, Shift sprint; flying units (Minerbot/Scannerbot) ascend with Space, descend with CTRL, Shift sprint boosts vertical speed [*Unique attack kit per character: Farmbot melee combo + pesticide, Scannerbot slow missiles / missile salvo + target lock & scan mode (homing missiles), red Totebot self-destruct, Minerbot drill / barrage and more [*Morph Tool: open the character picker with Q, spawn any character 4m in front of you and auto-possess it; temporary units are destroyed on detach [*Aim highlight + interaction prompt, third-person follow camera with mouse-wheel zoom (4-100) [*All 15 unit classes registered via the hijack mechanism - no official files are modified [*Works in single-player and multiplayer (a unit can only be possessed by one player at a time) [hr Controls [*E - attach / detach (detaching a Morph Tool spawn destroys it) [*W/A/S/D - move | Shift - sprint | Space - jump (ascend if flying) | CTRL - descend (flying) [*0-4 - switch attack moves | LMB/RMB - attacks | 5/6 (Scannerbot) - lock target / scan mode [*Q (with Morph Tool equipped) - open the character picker, select one and press LMB to spawn & auto-possess [hr Dependencies REQUIRED: HijackLib base library (same author). This mod uses HijackLib's hijack mechanism to possess NPCs; without it the mod does nothing. Install the HijackLib folder next to this mod and enable both. [hr Notes [*The invisible Morph tool auto-equips; the Morph Tool is in your inventory (toolbar) [*A unit type is registered when it is actually created in the world - types that never spawned yet first show "The character does not exist (try respawning it)" and become possessable once one appears [*Some animations may look a bit weird - the bots weren't meant to be controlled by a player. No effect on functionality [*While possessed, your player character stands idle [*Restart the game after enabling the mod; the first launch rebuilds the cache, which is normal [*Multiplayer: the host's mod applies to players joining, all clients need the mod to control NPCs [hr Changelog [*v3 (2026-09): Updated for game 1.0.6 (all unit classes, attacks and Scannerbot remain compatible; createUnit now forwards all arguments to support the new invisible-spawn flow); fixed stale possession sessions left after leaving a world (auto-cleanup on world reload, no more false "detach first" error); the host now force-cleans possession when a client disconnects [*v2 (2026-08): 15/15 unit classes registered; Morph Tool with character picker; Scannerbot missiles + hatch animation, target lock & scan mode, sprint-boosted vertical flight; Minerbot flight & attacks; red Totebot self-destruct; 3-language localization
